This presentation provides guidance and insights for HR professionals who are dealing with team conflict, unrest, underperformance, incivility, and dysfunction in the workplace. It aims to help HR professionals understand the wide scope of root causes of team conflict and identify dysfunctional teams. It also provides practical strategies and solutions that HR professionals can implement to improve team performance, including team-building activities, coaching and mentoring, training and development opportunities, and developing team performance metrics. It is intended to provide actionable advice and support to help HR professionals create a positive and productive work environment, boost team morale, and increase overall productivity.

Stephanie Noel

Stephanie Noël is a professional consultant specializing in respectful workplace reviews, workplace culture assessments, and conflict resolution practices. Stephanie is passionate about rooting out challenges and engaging people to return to a healthy work environment. She helps clients move forward with a supportive organizational culture that provides people with purpose and environments built on respect and collaboration. Ms Noel founded her own company, Noël & Co. Inc., while working with a national network of expert colleagues to provide customized workplace solutions. Stephanie's approach to workplace consultations begins with open and empathetic conversations to help ease employees' engagement, seek relevant information, and have informed discussions. Her steady professional demeanour and neutral stance guide clients through complex interpersonal issues and disputes toward client-led resolution. Following investigative and workplace assessment interventions, she helps employees move forward with initiatives such as; one-on-one coaching; mediation with conflicted parties; group or team "reset/reboot" facilitative sessions; an organizational scan to identify structure and process root causes; communication, civility, and interpersonal training; and other restorative practices. Stephanie has worked with clients in various industries, including healthcare, education, manufacturing, industrial sectors, quasi-government, non-profits, and all levels of government. Recipient of her MBA in 2003, Stephanie recently completed her Master of Law (LL.M) in Dispute Resolution (ADR) at York University – Osgoode Hall Law School. She is a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (ADRIO). She is currently fast-tracking in her pursuit towards the Chartered Mediator (C. Med) designation from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC), Canada's most senior official designation for mediators with extensive training and experience requirements. She has volunteered and served on community boards and is currently exploring new volunteer board positions where her experience can be an asset.
